First Friday

Black Dog Cafe & Wine Bar

This casual and fun happy hour event is open to all, so spread the word and bring your friends! Come to meet new neighbors, catch up on downtown news, and celebrate the end of the work week. Enjoy great happy hour prices on drinks and appetizers and help support a restaurant that has been hurt by light rail construction. As always, CapitolRiver Council will have a drawing for great prizes.


First Friday is downtown's community happy hour. Everyone from the downtown community is welcome to attend this casual, friendly event. First Friday rotates around downtown, supporting our local pubs and eateries and is always on the first Friday of the month. Would you like to suggest a location for an upcoming happy hour? Nine Nights of Music

The popular series presents the rich and vibrant rhythms and sounds of Minnesota's multi-cultural community at free outdoor performances at the Minnesota History Center. Listen to infectious music and get out your dancing shoes for saucy salsa, soulful Motown, and classic big band swing! Starts July 6th with International Reggae Allstars. FREE.

History Pub Crawls

Take a trolley ride and hear true tales of how some of St. Paul's most noteworthy neighborhoods built a Capital city. Neighborhood history crawls include your choice of three pub crawls and a food crawl, new this year! $20/$25.

The concert series begins June 10th and runs until Aug 26th, Thursdays 6pm to 9pm. The movies will run July 22nd - August 26th immediately following the concert. Each concert date will feature great live music, food,/beverages from The Bulldog, Bario Tequila Bar, Black Dog Cafe & Wine Bar and Station 4, along with various merchants and artists from the St. Paul community. Summer Dance

Dance to live music Thursday nights on Landmark Plaza, 5th and Market Streets, Downtown Saint Paul.  Summer Dance highlights a different social dance technique every Thursday with basic lessons by professional dance companies and the subsequent invitation to put those lessons to practice during open dancing the rest of the evening with a live, local band. Dance, relax and experience the vibrant energy of downtown St. Paul in the summertime. FREE.
